Cosmo is a server designed specifically for calendar management. It helps users centralize their calendar data and provides easy access to everyone involved, making scheduling and coordinating events much easier.
Not only is Cosmo effective for managing calendars, but it can also be utilized as a file server. Any WebDAV client, including Windows XP, Linux and Apple OS X file managers, can be utilized to store arbitrary files in your home directory in Cosmo. You can even share those files with others using the same process as sharing your calendar.
It is important to note that Cosmo does not function as a web-based personal information manager. However, there is a project underway with Scooby to provide a unique web interface specifically for calendaring that will be intricately integrated with Cosmo.
That being said, it’s important to understand that Cosmo is not a content management system. It does not have support for typical content management features like versioning, content editing or workflow. Instead, Cosmo provides a straightforward platform for managing calendars and files, allowing easy publishing and subscribing to a content repository. If you are looking for a calendar and/or file management tool, Cosmo could be the perfect fit for you.
