This software checks CSS syntax for BBEdit and TextWrangler, using W3C's CSS Validation Service. It ensures the accuracy of CSS files.
The results of the validation service are displayed in an easy-to-read results browser, similar in style to BBEdit's built-in HTML syntax checker. In addition, if you run the script against an HTML document, it will carry out a CSS syntax check against the contents of the first tag pair in the document - even if it isn't a standalone CSS file. This is particularly helpful for developers who use inline CSS during development, as it can prevent browser caching issues.
Installation is simple - just add both scripts to your BBEdit or TextWranger scripts folders. You can find these by accessing the following paths:
- ~/Library/Application Support/BBEdit/Scripts/
- ~/Library/Application Support/TextWrangler/Scripts/
To use CSS Syntax Checker for BBEdit and TextWrangler, you will need BBEdit 8.2.3 or later, or TextWrangler 2.1 or later.
