CVSTrac is a web-based tracking system to monitor bugs and patch-sets. It is ideal for use with CVS.
This bug-tracking software is available as a standalone C program that can operate as CGI or as its own web server. Besides, CVSTrac includes several essential features such as user-defined color-coded database queries, built-in repository browser, built-in Wiki, cross-platform compatibility, etc.
CVSTrac is easy to set up with simple installation processes, minimal memory, disk, and CPU requirements, and runs seamlessly even on old hardware. Moreover, it provides access permissions that are configurable separately for each user and allows anonymous login. CVSTrac utilizes its inbuilt SQL database engine (SQLite), thereby eliminating the requirement of a separate RDBMS.
Installing CVSTrac is quick and straightforward, and the software comes installed with its own embedded SQL database engine. Consequently, you do not require to install any external RDBMS support. Once downloaded, initialize the database with the following command: cvstrac init /home/cvs demo, where "/home/cvs" is replaced with the directory location and "demo" with the name of the project that CVSTrac will be hosting.
CVSTrac is an open-source project licensed under the GNU Public License. It has been tested under Linux, and it also works on other versions of Unix and Windows. Therefore, it is safe to say that CVSTrac is a reliable, user-friendly, and robust bug-tracking software that can improve your workflow and productivity considerably.
