CyberTester is a web application that enables teachers to design tests, exams, and assignments.
CyberTester2 (the latest version) implements Java Enterprise Edition (with EJB 3), running on JBoss as its application server and MySQL as the database, providing persistence, relationships, and security management.
The software boasts an array of features, including advanced hierarchical tree configuration to group tests based on a Department-Class-Subject-Topic hierarchy, as well as the ability for administrators to create and manage users, groups, and assign tests to users and groups. Administrators can use a rich text editor to manage and create single-choice, multiple-choices, and keywords-matching questions, as well as tests that may have time limits and specific time windows for taking.
The CyberTester interface for student test taking is flexible, presenting questions either individually or as a set on a single page. Students can review their results once the test is complete, and the software provides a rudimentary charting of student performance. Time limits on tests and questions, as well as the support for images and external links, further enhance CyberTester's usability.
This new release has impressive features too. It includes domain hierarchy segregation explicitly intended for administrator users. This tool allows an administrator to focus on a specific sub-section of the domain hierarchy and handle users, tests, and questions within the restricted sub-nodes. Additionally, CyberTester has been updated for JBoss 4.2.0 GA, and an updated JDBC is provided to support MySQL 5.x.
Overall, CyberTester is an excellent software solution for educators out there. The intuitive interface, secure access, and advanced features make it a reliable tool for administering online tests. To use CyberTester to its full potential, users need to install JBoss and MySQL.
