Danpei is an Image Viewer software that utilizes Gtk+ for its interface design.
This Image Viewer is distributed under the GNU General Public License, making it free to use and modify as needed. One of its most convenient features is the ability to rename files very easily. By changing file names in entries and looking through them in Thumbnail format, users can easily arrange the pictures taken on their digital cameras.
Danpei also caches created thumbnails, improving its speed in displaying them from the next time you go to view them. The software also emulates file operations like Windows Explorer, allowing you to move or copy your image files with cut & paste, as well as create new directories or remove directories. Cut & paste is possible with two or more files. Additionally, you can move your image files from one directory to another with drag and drop.
Viewing and editing image files is also never a problem with Danpei. You can view or edit your image files with your favorite applications, including ImageMagick and Gimp. Moreover, you can print out images with ease using an arbitrary command.
Lastly, Danpei has a small size, with a tarball size of about 410KB and an elf binary size after 'strip' of about 180KB. System requirements are minimal, needing Gtk+-1.2.6 or later, gdk-pixbuf-0.8.0 or later, libpng-1.0.3 or later, ImageMagick-4.2.2 or later, and XFree86-3.3.5 or later. Overall, Danpei is an excellent software that makes it easier for users to view, organize, and manage their image files.
