DenteAzul is a J2ME app enabling transmission of BlackBerry Internet connection over Bluetooth.
The problem with Blackberry OS versions below 4.2 is that connecting to the internet on your laptop is only possible by using a USB cable, and solely on Microsoft Windows OS. Currently, there are no USB drivers for other operating systems.
The solution, however, is where DenteAzul shines. The J2ME application, along with a VPN tool and proxy server, allows you to use your Blackberry as a tunnel. This means you can establish a network and enjoy seamless browsing.
In terms of technical details, the VPN connects to the proxy server, which relays data using Bluetooth to your cellphone. Your cellphone then relays the data over TCP to the other side of the VPN and vice versa.
It's important to note that Blackberry OS wasn't made for this type of usage, resulting in a need for a lot of CPU power. There is also a lot of packet fragmentation and high latency, with the tests resulting in a speed of 64kbps and a minimum latency of 900ms (which could be due to your network carrier's problem).
The latest release only supports Linux, and it works using vtun or openvpn. So, if you're a Blackberry user with OS earlier than 4.2, the DenteAzul Project might be a solution for your Internet usage needs.
