This screenlet software showcases the usage of space on chosen hard drives, indicating both free and occupied storage.
One of the most outstanding features of the Disk Space Screenlet is its ability to customize the colors displayed on your screen. With this feature, you can choose two distinctive colors for when disk usage is above a certain threshold or above the threshold. Additionally, you can change the threshold value, enabling you to monitor the space allocation for your hard drives better.
Another feature that you will appreciate is the ability to monitor more than one drive using only one screenlet. Therefore, you do not need to install four screenlets to monitor four drives. Moreover, the screenlet allows you to enter device names, such as /dev/sda1, instead of mount points.
In addition to the new features, the Disk Space Screenlet offers some significant changes compared to the Disk Usage Screenlet. For example, this screenlet uses the default drive icon from the Ubuntu Human theme. The default theme is based on the 'cristal' theme for the original screenlet. Additionally, some adjustments have been made in the interface to enhance user experience.
Lastly, Screenlets is a set of independently-developed widget applications and the widget engine which runs them. The engine runs primarily on X11-based compositing window managers, such as the Compiz (under Linux) architecture. Formerly, screenlets were exclusively scripted in Python and drawn in SVG. However, support was added for web widgets, like widgets for Apple Inc.'s Dashboard, after 0.0.14.
