Divifund is a customizable finance management software that exclusively caters to the user's unique needs, without any unnecessary features.
The program aims to simplify personal budgeting while keeping track of finances. You can create a budget and organize budget items into different categories, making it easier for you to keep track of your expenses. Additionally, you can nominate budget items to be paid from either a cash account or a "Direct Debit" account, allowing you to save money for big-ticket items and stay on top of your scheduled bills.
Divifund automatically calculates how much money you must set aside every fortnight to meet your "Direct Debit" obligations. It also tells you how much money you need in your Direct Debit account to make payments on a particular date. Recording and saving expenses under each budget category is also possible. You can track your expenses and monitor if you are overspending or underspending in any category. Sorting records into categories or by date is also available.
Divifund comes with a realistic example that displays how the program functions. You can easily export your reports, records, budget, and Direct Debit status to the Gnumeric Spreadsheet or AbiWord WordProcessor programs. Doing so allows you to print or incorporate them into reports for more detailed analysis.
To utilize Divifund, you need Python, GTK+ 2.2 or newer, PyGTK, gconf, pyGconf, libglade, and Pylibglade. The latest version of Divifund, 0.62, has additional input validation to prevent problematic entries from being added to accounts. The Import tab remains inoperable but is available for future use. The update is recommended for all users, and if you find any bugs, feel free to report them to the Divifund Bugzilla under Help Out.
