DKP Log Parser (DKPLP) is a tool for administering time-based and/or event-based DKP reward systems.
DKP Log Parser aims to minimize the administrative overhead of maintaining complex DKP reward systems. It parses logs, calculates the DKP for each individual, and directly transmits the results (such as the loot, raids, participants, and DKP) to EQDKP (or other DKP software). The software is versatile enough to be used under a variety of zero-sum and time-based DKP reward systems.
DKP Log Parser is a software application that runs on a user's desktop (Windows or Unix). After the completion of a raid, the program reads the game log, parses it and displays the data to the administrators for verification. After validating the data, the administrator uploads the information from their desktop to the DKP Log Parser plugin on an EQDKP webserver (or any other server that includes required DKPLP interface implementation), making it available for all members of the DKP system to view.
Some key features of DKP Log Parser include inbuilt support for Everquest, Everquest II, World of Warcraft's CT RaidTracker plugin, and Ventrilo. The software is modifiable enough to handle most logs under a variety of zero-sum and time-based DKP reward systems. The time-based DKP reward system accrues DKP by minute, by interval, by event, or by a combination of these. The zero-sum DKP setting can be enabled/disabled by minute or by interval, and specific intervals can be tagged as more or less important by adjusting DKP through weightings.
Data in DKP Log Parser can be exported into multiple formats, including EQDKP, plain text, BB forum markup, Wiki markup, and XML. The member list and alt character list are synchronized with the server, facilitating ease of sharing setups with other users. Additionally, an optional auto-completion database is available to store item names and values between sessions. Furthermore, preprocessors are available to perform other operations on the log file, offering endless possibilities.
DKP Log Parser requires the Java Runtime Environment (JRE). This release updates predefined patterns to match a minor change in the log format produced by EverQuest 2.
