This software converts guitar, bass guitar, and drum's ASCII tablature into MIDI files.
For instance, if you come across a piece of music notated in tablature from recent news and wonder how it sounds, this program can help. You only need to tweak very little of the original file, assuming its precision, to produce an audible output.
If you want to play along with chord changes or a rhythm section, simply program the chord change, a simple drum sequence, or bass line and improvise. Besides, it's possible to practice a lick by programming and looping it in the sequencer; start at a slow tempo and increase gradually.
You can also compose a song by putting in some work to obtain a crude demo that you can show to your friends for rehearsing. Finally, you can use this program together with a commercial notation program or the "mid2tex" program to convert tablature to standard notation.
