Drum Count is a free software that measures drum hits in live settings.
Before using the software, users need to ensure that their preferred soundcard recording input is selected. They can then adjust the threshold slider on the right until each hit is correctly counted. Once ready, drummers can press the reset button and start playing along. By default, the software counts the drum hits for 60 seconds.
Drum Count also allows users to record their performance as an MP3, which can be stored in the installation directory. The auto-reset button comes in handy if the user is away from the PC (i.e., behind the drumset). To avoid false hits from being counted, the "Max hits/sec" feature limits the hits per second. Users are advised to keep it below 20, except if they're Mike Mangini!
In summary, Drum Count is a handy software for any drummer looking to practice and count their drum hits in real-time. Its ease of use and additional features, such as MP3 recording and auto-reset, make it an excellent tool for drummers of all levels.
