This software provides a gtk run dialog with a graphical interface that allows users to easily enter and execute commands in Linux operating systems. With this tool, users can quickly and efficiently open files, launch applications and access system tools.
With its simple usage instructions, running a command is as easy as typing it in and pressing return. Tab, up, and down keys can be used to cycle through possible command completions, with Delete editing the list, and Escape dismissing it altogether. Shift+Return will open a command in a terminal window.
best of all, if you press tab on an empty entry, drun will present you with a list of previously run commands in the order of most recent use. If, on the other hand, you begin typing a command, the software will automatically attempt to complete it by executable, directory, or file name. If no completions are found, you can still utilize spell checking to find possible options.
Thanks to its customizable settings, drun is as flexible as it is efficient. Programs used to run files, directories, and URLs can be edited in ~/.drunrc, or customized further by adding custom run actions to Thunar's right-click menu.
Overall, drun is a superb tool that offers users exactly what they need in a run dialog box, with enough configurability to satisfy even the most demanding user. Highly recommended!
