dueled20 - Mac OS X/Cocoa/Java game which allows two players to build parties and then duel it out
Version: 0.1 Alphadueled20 is a Mac OS X/Cocoa/Java game which allows two players to build parties - and then "duel" it out.
Operating System: Mac OS X
The parties/characters are defined by XML files and the result of the duel is dependent on abilities/tactics/strategies.
It's an role-playing game, sort of. It's a tactical game, sort of. It's a strategy game, sort of.
Here are some key features of "dueled20":
· The number of 'points' for each party is limited- a player can create one big super character, or several weaker characters, for example.
· Each party must create a scheme for combat tactics. This scheme is created as an XML-based set of rules describing how characters fight.
· Each party must create a scheme for combat strategy. This scheme is also created as an XML-based set of rules describing characters' strategy.
· Combat is automated, in a sense. After the characters, tactics, and strategy are loaded, the combat engine kicks in and the battle is played out. The output is a log of the battle, detailing all activity ... and, of course, the winner.
