Easysoft's ODBC-Oracle Driver enables ODBC-based software to connect and access Oracle databases across Linux, Unix, and Windows platforms.
This driver uses Oracle client software to access the Oracle database, which is Oracle's only supported method for accessing it. The driver is compatible with the standard Oracle Database Client or the Instant Client for 10g. By using the Oracle client software, applications can take advantage of the Oracle Advanced Security option, which combines network encryption, database encryption, and strong authentication to safeguard database information.
Other competing products use wire protocol drivers that do not support features that are offered by the Oracle client software. However, even if you do not currently require additional functionality provided by a client add-on, using the Easysoft ODBC-Oracle Driver gives you the flexibility to add it later if your requirements change.
Some key features of the Easysoft ODBC-Oracle Driver include its adherence to the ODBC 3.5 specification, compatibility with various programming interfaces and applications, availability in both 32bit and 64bit versions, support for Oracle Native SQL syntax, compatibility with Oracle Net or Net8, and the ability to allow access to Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC).
The driver also provides full support for all Oracle data types, compatibility with Oracle Advanced Security features such as data integrity protection, data encryption, and strong authentication, compatibility with unixODBC, and the ability to generate diagnostic trace logs. The driver is thread-safe, allowing it to safely support multi-threaded applications.
The latest release of the Easysoft ODBC-Oracle Driver includes additional UNICODE features, improved support for SQLSetPos, support for BINARY_FLOAT and BINARY_DOUBLE, as well as bug fixes.
