This software is an open source and free viewer for stereo videos and images.
Emergence takes advantage of various Mac OS X technologies to enhance functionality. For example, Core Data is utilized to store Emergence libraries, while Core Image and OpenGL are utilized to render standard Cocoa controls in stereo. This ensures that stereo is integrated seamlessly into the normal desktop environment.
It is worth noting that while Emergence is a promising software tool, it is still in the early stages of development. As such, some features are yet to be fully implemented. Video viewing, for example, is not currently possible, and only stereo images in separate left and right format can be imported. Similarly, no adjustments such as cropping and parallax are yet possible. Additionally, the viewer can only view a single image at a time.
However, despite these limitations, most of the infrastructure has been established to enable easy addition of these features in the near future. It is clear that Emergence holds much promise as a versatile stereo imaging and video viewer for Mac OS X, and those looking for such a software application should keep their eyes peeled for future updates.
