EmuExec simplifies emulation on Linux by providing a user-friendly multisystem frontend. With its easy-to-use interface, users can access and play their favorite emulated games and programs.
With EmuExec, users can now generate screenshots using xwd if Imagick is not installed. Additionally, the software now supports several new compression formats such as arj, lha, and zoo. Users can install emulators using "emuexec [Driver] install." Input settings are also much easier to configure, thanks to the joystick helper application.
A joystick daemon has been added to record button combos and execute commands during gameplay. Default settings include button 1+2+3+4 for screenshots and Button 5+6+7+8 to exit the emulator. Users can set up automatic joystick input settings for popular emulators such as dgen, sdlmess, and mythtv.
Media control and volume control are also easier to manage with EmuExec. Users get to control media players using button combos such as joyhelper -joyd -mc amarok. The software now features improved HTPC-Config-Generators, including freevo and mythtv config generation. XMESS/XMAME driver has also been improved with the latest release, and SDLMESS/SDLMAME driver added.
Finally, users can specify SDL/XMESS systems from the command line using "emuexec -system=sms sdlmess run Sonic.sms." Overall, EmuExec offers an all-in-one emulation solution for Linux users without the need for tedious configurations.
