Scapepod is a small software that enables users to close the frontmost application and the dock on their computer with ease.
Escapepod is a nifty little application that allows you to quickly terminate unresponsive Mac OS X applications. With just a simple key combination, you can terminate the frontmost application by hitting Control-Alt-Delete, terminate the Dock by hitting Shift-Control-Alt-Delete, or perform a force-logout by hitting Command-Control-Alt-Delete.
There are times when the Mac OS X operating system appears to be hung or unresponsive, especially when playing games. However, often it's just the frontmost application's GUI that's wedged. By using Escapepod to terminate the application, you can restore normal functionality and resume your work.
Similarly, the Dock tends to stop responding under certain circumstances, and this can be cured by using Escapepod to terminate it. Moreover, when the entire GUI appears to be hung, it's safer to use a force-logout instead of simply rebooting your Mac (and it's quicker too).
It's worth mentioning that Escapepod is no longer needed or functional on MacOS X 10.3 and later versions. Apple has integrated its functionality within the operating system.
The latest release of Escapepod comes with a new and improved logo, thanks to Marcus Conge. Moreover, we've fixed a bug that previously prevented Escapepod from launching on versions of Mac OS X prior to 10.2.0. Lastly, we've updated the "Escapepod notes.txt" file to reflect the changes, including user-submitted suggestions, and instructions on how to quit Escapepod.
Overall, Escapepod is a valuable tool for keeping your Mac running smoothly by terminating unresponsive applications promptly.
