This web-based program efficiently calculates the optimal method of combining bobbins of spun yarn to create a consistent outcome.
Using Etherply is a breeze. The interface consists of three panels from left to right. The middle and right panels will change automatically as you enter data. To get started, simply input the number of bobbins and the number of plys (usually 2-4) in the left panel and hit ENTER. This will prompt the middle panel to change, and you'll see the number of permutations displayed at the bottom of the left panel. The number of permutations represents the total combinations the software will have to test.
Next, enter all your measurements in the middle panel and hit ENTER after the last entry. Once you're done, the button "Find the best combination" will become active on the left panel. Click this button to start the search process.
Depending on the complexity of your query, your browser may pause periodically and ask if you want to continue. Don't worry, this is just a gentle reminder, and you'll want to click "yes" to proceed. Your computer will then start working to find the best matching combination. The software will show you the progress of the calculation in the "Found so far" section of the right panel, and provisional results will be displayed as well.
Once the program is complete, the results will appear in the right panel under "Current mode: Complete". From there, you can review the results and determine how best to proceed. Etherply is a helpful tool for anyone looking for a streamlined way to calculate the best combination of bobbins for a uniform result.
