Extractor is a precise calculator software that allows users to adjust the calculation precision between 1 to 240 digits.
The application starts calculating from a formula limited to 250 characters written in natural notation, with operators, constants, and variables. While there's a limit of 73 arguments, it depends on the formula's sophistication level. The syntax of the formula is verified, and errors are interpreted. Once compiled, Extractor optimizes the calculus, and you can change any argument or formula at any moment.
Direct access to any argument is possible through its other system file called EXACTER. You can enter any argument in natural or scientific notation, and the use of parentheses is authorized for periodic numbers. The application tests every entered argument and interprets errors.
The operator can choose the computation mode with a 'phase monitor,' a graphic indicator of the calculation's advancement. Access to the HELP file is free at any moment, and you can add any remarks to the text. It contains the presentation of all the operators. Besides, Extractor has another system file called FORMULAE, containing a formulae library, and CONSTANTS file, registering any constant with or without its name and possible comments.
A report containing a list of arguments and all intermediate results in chronological order can be generated depending on the run mode selected. The result can be rounded off freely with the ROUND button, and you can cut any part of the result to speed up the rounding process. You can interrupt the execution at any moment using the Q key, and automatic recording of the report follows any interruption.
In the set of operators, Extractor includes a division modulo as the rest of division by a real number, nth root, logarithm with any base, product of all successive numbers of any range, recursive calculus, incremental calculus, base conversion, some functions concerning primes, etc. Besides, it has a simple and direct mode of calculation called CASH REGISTER that enables a continuous addition of numbers, products, percents, and divisions with a limited precision of 25 digits. However, this application runs on Mac OS Classic only.
