FancyLauncher is a program that enables users to launch programs, check POP3 mails and also includes an integrated clock.
For users who are switching over from E-FancyLauncher to FancyLauncher, there is a utility called EF2F that is available to make the transition smooth by translating the E-FancyLauncher configuration file to the FancyLauncher configuration file. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the newly added features by checking out the default configuration and plugins directory.
The configuration directory for FancyLauncher is located in your home directory and is named .FancyLauncher. In this directory, you will find the configuration file config. To copy the plugins, use the command cp -r /usr/local/FancyLauncher/plugins ~/.FancyLauncher/. The configuration file works through definitions, with common defining common options that are inherited by all the buttons. These options can be redefined, while button can create a button launcher, and digital_clock defines a digital clock.
This latest release includes several new features such as adding files or directories with +file, removing files or directories with -file, and color printing. If you want to view HELP, you can use more or less -Rf. Additionally, FancyLauncher now has an emacs transcriber from Chris Bidmead, along with a new print function to replace all previous printing commands.
This release also fixes several issues such as memory leaks and adds new features such as conditional print and the uniq command for playlist management. To demonstrate the print command, there is now a sample script called playlist2html.sh. Finally, the addition of a clear command makes it easy to clear your playlist. Overall, FancyLauncher is a powerful and customizable program launcher that is well worth trying out.
