FeedTree Web Proxy facilitates faster updates of feed by utilizing p2p distribution.
The ftproxy client software is compatible with all existing desktop feed readers and any RSS or Atom feed. The FeedTree Web Proxy operates alongside your preferred feed reading application on your Mac. The feed reader communicates with the proxy instead of the internet, resulting in the most up-to-date news without server polling.
Developed by the Rice University Department of Computer Science, FeedTree is an ongoing research project. It is continually evolving, and its latest release provides improvements to bootstrap selection. This reduces the likelihood of "all bootstraps are faulty" messages. Additionally, the FreePastry p2p substrate also received fixes and minor bug fixes and tweaks, which can be found on the project timeline.
For optimal use, FeedTree requires a desktop feed reader, such as NewsFire, NetNewsWire, Shrook, or Safari. Overall, FeedTree is an excellent and essential tool for anyone who wants to stay updated on the latest news and information in real-time.
