The FieldsKit software offers improved deinterlacing solutions and enhanced workflow choices.
What I appreciated most about using FieldsKit was that its Deinterlacer creates better frames, which ended up providing better results when used with other RE:Vision Effects products, such as ReelSmart Twixtor and ReelSmart Motion Blur.
FieldsKit works in all applications that support After Effects plug-ins, including After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, Boris Red, Commotion and Combustion. The kit includes the FieldsKit Deinterlacer, FieldsKit Reinterlacer and FieldsKit Pulldown. FieldsKit processes in both 8 and 16 bits per channel and now has multiprocessor support.
I was also impressed with the workflow support provided by FieldsKit: many of the RE:Vision Effects products require turning off host application field rendering and field separation algorithms. FieldsKit's Reinterlacer and Pulldown options are provided to ease these workflow headaches.
In terms of requirements, FieldsKit requires Adobe After Effects 5.0 and up (including native Intel Mac support for AE CS3), Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0 and up, Apple Final Cut Pro 4.0 and up, Autodesk combustion 2.1 and up, eyeon Fusion 4.04e and up, 5.02 and up, Quantel generationQ, and other programs that offer After Effects plugin compatibility (demo testing before purchase recommended).
Overall, I found FieldsKit to be an effective set of plug-ins that enhanced my video editing workflow by providing smarter deinterlacing and interlacing options. I'd recommend giving it a try if you're looking to improve your video quality with better frames and enhanced workflows.
