FlashAmp Lite is a Macromedia Flash™ audio visualization tool.
With FlashAmp, you can create audio amplitude, spectrum, and cue point data. These allow you to synchronize animations to sound, animate sound waveforms, animate VU meters, use audio cue points in Flash, create graphical eq type displays, and create intense frequency-based music visualizations. The only limit is your own creativity.
There are several key features of FlashAmp that make it stand out. These include a completely revised user interface that puts all of the main settings in a single window, a new Preview window that includes an animated 'eq' display for spectrum data, and waveform displays for amplitude data (FlashAmp Pro only). Simultaneous processing of amplitude and spectrum data is also possible with FlashAmp Pro.
Batch processing now handles sub-folders of sound files in FlashAmp Standard and Pro editions. Meanwhile, the amplitude Smoothing setting is variable, and you can set custom spectrum bandwidths (FlashAmp Pro only). There are also settings for the overall frequency range used in spectrum analysis (FlashAmp Pro only). FlashAmp supports 48kHz sample rate sounds as well as MP3 files using Variable Bit Rate (VBR) and Joint-Stereo encoding.
Overall, the combination of new and improved features makes FlashAmp an excellent audio visualization utility for anyone working with Macromedia Flash™. To use FlashAmp, you will need a Power Macintosh G4 running OS 10.2.6, with 512 MB RAM, along with Flash 8, Flash MX2004 Professional and MX2004, Flash MX, and Flash 5 (if formatting to Flash 5 lists is required).
