This software is a modular operating system that is built on the Puppy Linux platform. It offers users an easy and customizable experience that can be tailored to their specific needs. The software is highly flexible and can be adapted to suit a wide range of computing needs.
After building on this foundation to create Flexxxpup, I have customized its interface to make it more welcoming and less minimalistic. While some Ubuntu versions like Ultumix, Ultimate Edition, and Comfusion are well-made, their desktop performance is generally lower than what is available with Puppy Linux. Additionally, a previous favorite of mine, MNC Live Mandriva, has unfortunately been abandoned by its creator.
Before creating Flexxxpup, I also experimented with other Linux distributions like PC Linux OS. Although I enjoyed it when I was new to Linux, I later found that it reminded me too much of an XP collage interface. Despite trying some good unofficial remasters, I didn't find it compelling enough to stick with it.
While I was initially impressed with the 3D effects available on Ubuntu, PC Linux OS, and Fedora, I felt like I didn't have enough control over the distributions. It felt like I was just following their way of evolving, and making small changes didn't really allow me to personalize my experience.
With Puppy Linux as the foundation of Flexxxpup, I am fully satisfied with what I have created. I invite you to try it out and see for yourself!
