flSynclient is a front-end software application for synaptics touchpads. Built with the FLTK toolkit, it offers an easy-to-use interface for configuring touchpad settings.
To use flSynclient, you need to have FLTK, XOrg/XFree86 Synaptics TouchPad Driver, and synclient installed. Installation is easy- you simply need to expand the archive, enter the created directory, compile using the make command, and install as root user by copying flSynclient to /usr/local/bin/.
Note that real-time setting is only possible if the "shared memory" option is enabled. Your IXF86Config/xorg.conf file should contain an InputDevice section with specific options like Device, Protocol, and SHMConfig to enable touchpad configuration.
This new release of flSynclient includes error interception if SHMconfig is not enabled, improved verbose mode, and an improved makefile. Overall, flSynclient is a useful tool for anyone with a Synaptics touchpad who wants an easy-to-use interface for configuration.
