FoldersSynchronizer is a software designed to sync files, folders, and disks. It enables users to keep the contents of their system organized and up-to-date at all times.
The user can choose one or more pairs of files, folders or disks, which will then be backed-up or synchronized exactly. FoldersSynchronizer boasts a range of features that make it stand out from other similar software programs.
For example, FS can backup the entire MacOS X boot disk and make it bootable. Additionally, it can automount volumes, exactly sync and backup files or folders that have been deleted or renamed (Exact Sync and Exact Backup features), and create, save and open "Sessions Files."
Users can create, rename, duplicate, delete, and edit several Sessions in a single file, assign source/destination folders, settings, timers, multiple folders, filters, exclude, and conflicts to each session. FS also enables users to execute one or all the Sessions simultaneously at the time they specify in the timer list.
Additionally, FS can execute multiple synchronizations/backups (up to 32 pairs of folders) specified by a single session; filter documents to copy by FileName, Type, Creator, Creation Date, Modification Date, and Kind (File or Folder); exclude folders and files with absolute paths; and check whether a conflict occurred before replacing or deleting a recently updated file.
Users can also choose to copy invisible Files and Folders, include/unlock locked files, resolve Aliases and SYM links, and skip empty folders. FS can copy new files only and skip the most recently updated files.
The application can stop or skip or ask for further instruction if an error or conflict occurs, and can show the "Items to be copied" Preview List. It can save/display short or detailed Log Files (always or only if an error occurred) and send the Log Text via Email to a custom email address (always or only if an error occurred).
FS can work with root privileges, even if the user is not the root, and it can use a "modification date delta seconds" value when calculating the most recent file. It works properly on Unicode Strings, Long file names, Unix permissions, Multiple forks, Forks > 2GBytes, SYM links, and GMT Date/Time.
The software allows users to drag and drop source and destination folders/files/disks and aliases, and work in the background (multithreading). Registered copies of FS have no limits regarding the amount of files and folders or the total byte size. FS versions for MacOS Classic never need extra memory for large amounts of files.
The only limitation is that the "limited trial version" only allows users to Synchronize/Backup up to 40 files. Overall, FoldersSynchronizer is a powerful and user-friendly application that simplifies the process of synchronizing and backing up files, folders and disks for Macintosh users.
