Furious_TV is a software suite that utilizes XMLTV listings to automate TV card program recording on UNIX systems.
The latest release of Furious_TV resolves various bugs that existed in the previous version. Moreover, it has added support for non-US TV listings as other parts of the world experience varying channel numbers even within the same locality. Non-US users can now update their channel numbers, which will persist every time new listings are loaded into the database.
Version 1.4 offers users the option to override channel numbers in the database using the channel numbers in the listings by instructing the parser with the ftv_listings ("-r") option. This, however, is only recommended for US listings obtained using XMLTV's tv_grab_na grabber.
It's imperative to keep in mind that the channel numbers stored in the listings are persisted by analyzing the channel names. Therefore, as a user, you must not change the channel names manually, as this may result in ftv_listings failing to recognize channels already in the database.
Overall, Furious_TV is incredibly useful software that's able to automatically record programs from TV cards. With its latest features, it has become even more versatile, allowing users to find and record their favorite TV shows with ease. Its speed, efficiency, and versatility make it an ideal choice for those who want a reliable TV recording tool.
