"Garbure offers various GNU/Linux distributions optimized for specific needs through dedicated platforms." (18 words)
The platforms included in Garbure form a cohesive entity, but each distribution can also function independently. The distributions complement each other in the same way that tools in a toolbox or volumes of an encyclopedia do. The tools, documentation and examples are carefully chosen, tested, and even created by individuals who are active in the respective target domains.
All elements of Garbure are arranged in a consistent manner across each distribution. If you are accustomed to using the ratatouille distribution for animation movies, you will find it easy to adapt and use burek, which is dedicated to audiovisual performance, without much extra effort. Additionally, you can easily advise and demonstrate a distribution to a friend who works in another domain, as the distribution layout is standardized throughout.
These distributions are intended to be used as work stations, and the installation and distribution media are LiveCDs. This also makes Garbure useful for demonstration purposes, promotion, occasional usage, or as a rescue system. Meta-package installation is planned for future updates.
