Gchat is a free, web-based chat application that offers a 3D virtual environment, private and public messaging, and more. It can be seamlessly integrated into any website.
The Public Messaging feature allows users in a chatroom to send messages that are visible to all users above the sender's character. Additionally, users can click on characters to open a private message window. Messages sent using this feature will only be received by the specified user, and their private message window will appear upon receipt.
The Friend List feature enables users to add each other to their friend list, and they can view each other's online status. Friends can be added through the private messaging window, and the friend list automatically refreshes every five seconds based on the user's connection speed.
Users can view each other's profiles by clicking on the Profile View feature. This feature allows them to see information about other users that was entered during the signup process.
Speaking of Signup, users can create accounts by specifying a username and password and selecting their favorite character. They can also enter additional information that will be useful in the Members Directory search engine.
Speaking of the Members Directory feature, it allows users to search for other users based on the information provided in their profile. They can also search for users based on their online status.
In the Account Info section, members can change their password, as well as their profile information and characters.
Finally, the Login Form feature is designed to help users add the Gchat application to their website. After logging in from another site, users are connected to the Gchat application. When they log out, they are automatically returned to their website's login form. Unregistered users can click the Sign-Up button on the website form to create an account, with the signup page redirecting them to the Gchat signup page. After completing the signup, users are redirected back to the website's login form for login.
