This software provides genomics data visualization through a range of software applications and re-usable components.
In addition to IGB, you'll find the GenoViz SDK, which contains a library of reusable components for genomics data visualization. There's also Genometry, a unified data model that represents relationships between biological sequences. It's mainly used in the Integrated Genome Browser.
IGB itself is a desktop application that uses both the GenoViz SDK and Genometry. It supports visualization and exploration of genes, genomes, and genome-scale data sets, particularly data from genome tiling arrays. If you use DAS (Distributed Annotation System) servers or local files on your file system, you'll be pleased to know that IGB can display data from both.
It's worth noting that GenoViz is licensed and distributed under the terms of the Common Public License 1.0. With these three components working together, GenoViz is one of the most comprehensive options out there for genomics data visualization.
