A Gentoo version designed for Xbox gaming console.
One of the standout features of Gentoox is its full optimization, which ensures that it runs smoothly even on older Xbox models. However, you will need either software or hardware mods to get it to work, so be sure to check what's required before you get started.
Once installed, Gentoox gives you three different installation options: E, F, and Native. Both E and F create a loopback filesystem that won't format any of your drives during installation (except for cache partitions). If you choose "Native" instead, your F: partition will be formatted to ReiserFS, which can make it inaccessible to Xbox applications.
Loading Gentoox is a breeze, with the option to either use a .xbe file or a Cromwell based BIOS that can be flashed to your modchip during installation. If you're worried about taking risks, then the E or F installations are perfect since you can delete all the files it installs (which is around 7 in total) and start again without any issues.
Finally, it's important to note that all versions of Gentoox are 100% free and open source. So if you're looking for a customizable, flexible, and reliable media center that gives you full control over your content, then Gentoox is definitely worth checking out.
