Gentoo for Xbox is a software adaptation that allows users to run the Gentoo Linux operating system on their original Xbox console.
During installation, the user has access to 3 choices, including E, F, and Native, allowing the operating system to run alongside the games. E and F create a loopback filesystem, preventing your drives from being formatted during installation, except for cache partitions. If Native is selected, the F: partition is formatted to ReiserFS, making it inaccessible to Xbox applications.
Gentoox is capable of being loaded via a .xbe file, or from a Cromwell-based BIOS, which can also be added to modchips during installation. Users cannot only install Gentoox risk-free utilizing E or F installations, but they can also uninstall the program by erasing all its installation files, which are minimal.
Additionally, all Gentoox versions are entirely free and open source, making them available to anyone who wishes to take advantage of this wonderful software. Overall, the Sparkle edition of Gentoox is a well-performing, reliable software extension perfect for Xbox system enthusiasts.
