GJay creates music playlists by sourcing from a selection of songs.
The playlist matches in GJay are based on various factors, including song characteristics that don't change, frequency fingerprint, beats per minute, location in the file system, song attributes that you set, rating, and color. By leveraging these factors, GJay ensures that each song in the playlist transitions seamlessly to the next and the entire playlist as a whole sounds cohesive.
Currently, GJay only works on Linux, but the team is working hard to get it up and running on MacOS as well.
A recent update to GJay fixed several bugs that were causing issues with playlist generation, including the fact that color saturation was being factored in way too much. Additionally, the team added new features, such as making playlist generation time 4 digits wide so users can create extra-long playlists, and using both inode and dev to identify symlinks.
Overall, GJay is an excellent software for DJs and anyone who wants to create curated playlists that sound great. With its easy-to-use interface and sophisticated algorithms, GJay is sure to become your go-to music playlist generation software.
