Gnome-Run-Dialog is a revamped version of the panel-run-dialog with similar functionalities.
One of the primary functions of Gnome-Run-Dialog is that it enables users to run applications with Environment-Variables. For instance, running nautilus $HOME or LANG=C sound-juicer is possible. It also allows users to run applications in xterm, as well as run applications as root (via gksu). Plus, it's possible to run applications both in xterm and as root, which is a significant step ahead of the original panel-run-dialog.
Furthermore, Gnome-Run-Dialog allows users to run applications with a selected file as an argument. Additionally, it uses the same history as the original Panel-Run-Dialog, so users get to keep it.
To install Gnome-Run-Dialog, users can quickly execute "make install.". Furthermore, users can use "gnome-run-dialog --set" to make Gnome-Run-Dialog the main dialog when users press Alt+F2. This will make the original dialog available via Ctrl+Alt+F2. Overall, Gnome-Run-Dialog is an exciting reimplementation of the panel-run-dialog that features more advantages than the original.
