Gnome Spell is a spell checking tool designed for the GNOME/Bonobo software platform. It checks spelling and grammar errors in text and is an essential component for ensuring error-free writing.
Notably, the underlying pspell package is a crucial prerequisite for successfully building and utilizing gnome-spell. By incorporating the Dictionary object, users can enable live spell checking in their relevant projects. Guidance for sample usage can be found in test-spell.c or gtkhtml/components/html-editor/spell.c.
In the near future, the overall functionality of Gnome Spell will be expanded by the introduction of the GNOME::Spell::Checker object as well as a spell-checking dialog control complete with an appropriate interface.
For optimal results, our team recommends building pspell/aspell in the following order: (1) build and install pspell, (2) build and install aspell, and (3) finally build and install GNOME Spell.
System requirements are standard; users must have a functioning GNOME environment to use this software. Recent updates to Gnome Spell include the addition of several new translations: Occitan, Slovenian, Dzongkha, Xhosa, Kinyarwanda, Nepali, Korean, and Galician.
