Tomboy, a popular note-taking application, has been ported to C++ for better performance and stability. The C++ version offers the same features as the original application, including note synchronization and tagging.
One thing to note is that Gnote has a deliberate design decision to keep the storage separate from Tomboy. Although this could be seen as a drawback for some users, it guarantees the independence of the two applications.
It is important to mention that due to the way Tomboy works, the "pinned" state of the notes will not be transported to Gnote. Nonetheless, the effortless transfer of notes from Tomboy to Gnote is a valuable and much-needed feature for all users.
