The GNU Gatekeeper GUI provides a graphical representation of registrations and VoIP calls being managed by the gatekeeper.
The gatekeeper is required to provide multiple services according to Recommendation H.323, including address translation, admissions control, bandwidth control, zone management, call control signaling, call authorization, bandwidth management, and call management. Most of these functions are implemented by the GNU Gatekeeper using the OpenH323 protocol stack.
Recommendation H.323 is an international standard published by the ITU. This standard covers communication protocols for audio, video, and data over the internet. For more information on this topic, users can also consult Paul Jones' A Primer on the H.323 Series Standard.
