GNU Talk Filters is a software that converts regular English text into stereotyped text using filter programs.
Although these filters have been in the public domain for many years, they're now being offered for the first time as a single integrated package. This means you'll have access to all the filters in one place, including austro, b1ff, brooklyn, chef, cockney, drawl, dubya, fudd, funetak, jethro, jive, kraut, pansy, pirate, postmodern, redneck, valspeak, and warez.
Each program reads from standard input and writes to standard output, making it simple and convenient to use. The package also comes with a C library, which makes it easy to embed the filters into other programs that you might be developing.
One of the most notable features of the GNU Talk Filters is the plugin that can be integrated with the GAIM instant messenger program. With this plugin, you'll be able to select one of the filters to be applied to all outgoing messages that you type. You can switch between filters or disable filtering as needed.
It's worth noting that some of the filters might contain language that some people may find objectionable. They are provided uncensored and in their original form. By downloading this software, you agree to accept these terms.
This release also addresses some Windows build issues, including those related to MinGW and VC++. The package comes with full documentation and source code, making it easy to get started with GNU Talk Filters.
