goPod software enables the removal of EU Volume restriction on 3rd, 4th gen iPods, and iPod minis.
To apply the volume tweak, you may have to launch your iPod in HDD (Hard Disk Drive) mode, which can be done by selecting your iPod in iTunes and clicking on the disk icon located in the lower right part of the window. Once done, simply launch goPod and click on 'go' to cap or uncap your iPod. If your iPod is not detected, a click on 'go' will make goPod try to detect it again. Once you've clicked on 'go', wait for five seconds as it may take some time for the program to work. While it may be slow, it is necessary for compatibility reasons.
Once your iPod has been capped/uncapped, you might have to restart it. You can restart your iPod by pressing the 'menu' button and the central button simultaneously for three seconds, provided you have a 4G iPod. Alternatively, press the 'menu' and 'play' buttons at the same time on a 3G iPod until you can see an apple. The reboot should be automatic, and you should be able to enjoy your uncapped iPod.
