GPilotInstaller is a Java-based software that functions as a graphical interface for the gpilot-install-file built-in command line tool.
As a user, I found it tedious to manually install files on my Palm Zire 72. But, with GPilotInstaller, I was able to throw this tool together in just four days. This includes the time it took to write the code, document it, and test it thoroughly. Overall, it gets the job done.
To use the software, download the code and build it. I personally used NetBeans 5.5 to design and write the code. Once GPilotInstaller is installed, test it out for yourself. If there are any changes or improvements you think can be made, please let me know. Similarly, if you encounter any bugs or issues, I am open to receiving feedback for improvement.
GPilotInstaller requires a Java Environment to run properly. The latest release of GPilotInstaller features a fix for issues related to handling adding multiple files from one file chooser. Individual files are now each put on their own respective line and should install substantially better than before. If you're looking to streamline the process of installing files on your Palm OS device, GPilotInstaller is a valuable tool to have on hand.
