Gr_Monitor is a software tool that presents multiple datasets in the form of animated 3D bar charts.
Out of the box, Gr_monitor is designed to display information about processes resident on a UNIX system. By processing the data and grouping it by username, the software displays a 3D bar graph of CPU usage, memory consumed, resident set size, and elapsed time for each process. To make it even better, username groupings sit on their own little plinth.
Gr_monitor comes with a wide range of customization options, ranging from translating, rotating, scaling, lighting, and fog effects. The software diligently receives input data via an input stream, and displays it in an X11 Mesa or X11 OpenGL window. The input stream is expected to be an XML document with a DTD that defines the data to be plotted.
Gr_gather comes with a default implementation of a data gatherer. It accesses data from the Linux process file system and reformats it into a suitable XML document. If you wish to record data for later playback, you can run a gather process stand alone and redirect its output to a file.
In conclusion, Gr_Monitor is a fantastic piece of software that you should check out. It comes packed with enough features to make every data visualization project fun and exciting. Its compatibility with UNIX systems is also worth noting, making it the perfect tool for anyone looking to get more out of their data sets.
