Gtivo is a media extraction tool which extracts TiVo streams.
One of the key features of gtivo is its customizability. Users can configure preferences according to their needs, which are organized into different categories. For instance, options related to TiVo Device can be found under that group.
The TiVo Device options include parameters like TiVo Hostname, Telnet Port (deprecated), Web Server Port, Extraction Port, and Transaction Log. Users can specify the hostname or IP of the TiVo device, the port on which the TiVo can be accessed for http requests, and the port on which gserver is running.
Under Storage, preferences such as Save As and Location can be set. The former option allows users to save the extracted files in specific formats such as Episode, File Extension, Program, and Station. The location field specifies the directory where the extracted information will be saved.
The Extraction - Options group includes different extraction options for the software such as TiVo Command, MPEG, tyStream (Raw), Store Chunks Separately, and Copy Show Information from Web Server. Users can choose whether extracted videos will be in the proprietary tyStream format or converted to MPEG.
After selecting a show to extract, a separate dialog box will pop up to show the progress of the extraction. The Save As information will be displayed along with an "Estimated Time to Arrival" (ETA) field. Overall, gtivo is a comprehensive tool for users looking to extract tyStreams from TiVo devices, and its customizable options make it a great software for those with specific needs.
