Gtkcdlabel is a graphical user interface for cdlabelgen, a tool that produces diverse CD tray covers.
In the latest version (1.0pre1), all options of the newest cdlabelgen version are supported, and multiple UI enhancements have been added. With this version, users can now use image formats other than EPS. When utilizing the program conversion from the ImageMagick suite, any format it can handle can be used by gtkcdlabel. The only aspect left is the bug fixes.
Sebastian has also set up the gtkcdlabel CVS repository so that users can access it via anonymous CVS. For versions 0.7.0 onwards, GTK2 is used, and previous versions before 0.7.0 are no longer being supported. However, the last stable tarballs and RPM's are still available.
Some key features of gtkcdlabel include multiple options such as support for all of the options in cdlabelgen 2.6, ability to supply images of any format that ImageMagick can handle with EPS conversion carried out instantly, processing ID3 tags on an MP3 CD, handling UTF8, handling locales though no translations currently exist, and no longer requiring libcdaudio to access the CD drive or access freedb.freedb.org.
To utilize gtkcdlabel, a cdlabelgen version greater than 2.2 is needed, as well as GTK 2.0 and above, Glade, and libglade. The latest release has undergone major code changes, including being ported to PyGTK2 and adding support for cdlabelgen 4.0.0.
