Gvfsfind locates files within directory hierarchies.
One of the most significant advantages of GVFSFind is its versatility. For example, you can print all directories on the FTP server by running 'gvfsfind.py --type d --print.' Additionally, you can use the 'gvfsfind.py ssh://skipper/srv/movie --type f -name ".*.vob" --exec "gnomevfs-copy %u ."' command to copy all files ending with .vob from the host skipper's directory /srv/movie, including its sub-directories.
GVFSFind's latest release, Version 1.1, has several useful features. A makefile has been added to simplify release, and the release is now packaged as a tar.gz archive. The application now supports filenames that include #, and you can use it as a Python module. Overall, GVFSFind is an excellent tool for managing and searching through files on a URL-based system.
