Hashell is a Haskell-based shell application that offers a command-line interface for users.
It is important to keep in mind that Hashell is still in the alpha stage and may be buggy. Therefore, it is not recommended to assume that this software is stable at any level. Although Hashell has been relatively stable for the author lately, it is mainly intended for people who would like to debug and fix bugs. If possible, users can also add and extend the feature of the shell itself.
In the latest release, several updates and fixes have been implemented. Some of them are:
- Part of the parsing is now done with Parsec
- A new exception handler was added for evaluating Haskell expressions, and it fixes a bug which caused the program to abort.
- Redirection of standard error was added
- A bug with the 'quit' built-in command was fixed
- Number identifiers were added to the redirection operators
- Preliminary support for environment variables was added
Overall, Hashell can be a useful tool if you are familiar with Haskell and would like to use it frequently for daily administration tasks. However, it is advisable to keep in mind that this software is still unstable and may require debugging and fixing from the user's side.
