The HDBC Sqlite3 Driver is a software tool that serves as the Haskell Sqlite v3 backend driver for HDBC, enabling easy integration and access to databases.
This package consists of a single function located in module Database.HDBC.Sqlite3, called connectSqlite3. This function connects to an Sqlite version 3 database and requires only the filename of the database to do so. All database accessor functions can be accessed through the main HDBC module.
Before attempting to use the HDBC Sqlite3 Driver, it is important to ensure that certain requirements are met. These include HDBC 0.99.0 or above and GHC 6.4.1 or above, or Hugs 2005xx or above.
To successfully install this software, follow these steps:
1) Run the command "ghc --make -o setup Setup.lhs"
2) Run "./setup configure"
3) Run "./setup build"
4) Run "./setup install" (as root)
In the event that you are using Windows, you can disregard the leading "./".
It is worth noting that in order to use the HDBC Sqlite3 Driver with hugs, it is recommended to use hugs -98. If you plan to use the driver with GHC, use -package HDBC -package HDBC-sqlite3. With Cabal, the Build-Depends should include HDBC>=0.99.0, HDBC-sqlite3.
