HLDS Control Panel is a web application designed in PHP that allows users to set up a Half-life dedicated server. This software enables users to manage and start their dedicated servers with ease.
One of the key advantages of HLDS Control Panel is its ease of use. It features a map cycle admin, which allows you to modify the mapcycle.txt file. Additionally, users can view, edit, and shuffle mapcycles, and limit the number of game instances they can start through port number allocation. There is also a server monitoring page, an email notification when a game is started, a Steam web GUI for updating and installing Dedicated Server games, and a remote listener for starting up games on other servers.
To use HLDS Control Panel, you need to have Linux/Unix, a webserver, PHP, Halflife, and any of the supported mods. The software is developed and tested on Linux (Kernels 2.6.9 and 2.6.10), PHP 4.3.8 and PHP 4.3.10, and Apache 1.3.33 and 2.0.51.
What's new in this release? User editing is enabled in Useradmin, bind to IP is now a startup option, and there is now a configuration file editor. Furthermore, the main page displays a version check, the Steam client now has an option for DOD:Source, and there is a Utilites page useful for checking PHPinfo() and write access to hlds_dirs.
Overall, HLDS Control Panel is a flexible and user-friendly tool for managing your Half-life dedicated server and mod games.
