Hobbit extension for HP Proliant servers monitors hardware raid.
One of the best things about this script is that it automatically detects the number of RAID controllers and the total number of hard drives plugged into your system. The Hobbit RAID icon switches to red if the disk(s) are down (also known as the hard drive) or if the RAID (also known as the logical drive) is rebuilding.
Here are the steps for installation:
1. Place the 'hphwraid.sh' script in your client Hobbit folder '${BBHOME}/ext/'
2. Edit your client configuration file '/etc/clientlaunch.cfg' and add:
[hpraid]
ENVFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/etc/hobbitclient.cfg
CMD $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/ext/hphwraid.sh
LOGFILE $HOBBITCLIENTHOME/logs/hphwraid.log
INTERVAL 5m
3. Provide the hobbit user with the necessary privileges to run the hpaucli command via 'sudo'
4. On your server, edit your '${BBHOME}/etc/bb-hosts' and add the keyword 'hpraid' to the host you want to monitor
5. Wait less than 20 minutes, and you will see the 'HPRAID' column appear.
Overall, HP-HW-RAID is an excellent tool for monitoring your hardware RAID system, and it's effortless to set up thanks to the detailed installation guide.
