Modem Monitor is network software that enables monitoring and performance checking of remote or local modems connected via phone line. It is designed to help manage and optimize internet connectivity.
Designed for use in networks connected to the internet through phone lines, cable modems, satellite cards, or any other interface, Modem Monitor allows workstations in the network to receive information about the status and performance of the interface connection located on other machines.
The software features a client-server distributed architecture, with server components installed on the machine with dial-up networking, and client components on the machines of local network users. The server is implemented as a tray application.
With Modem Monitor, you can receive connection statistics for separate modems or network cards, or for all network devices together. You can also view remote modem connection status (Connected, Disconnected, etc.) in textual, sound, and graphical representations, along with the remote interface connection speed, name, and performance (inbound, outbound, total speed, and averages).
The software also features the ability to start up to eight custom programs on event-based rules, such as when the interface is connected or disconnected. You can also terminate programs that you start after the interface is connected when the connection drops, or after the interface is disconnected when the connection is restored.
The program's client part stays in the tray after starting, displaying the interface status. For configuring the program or viewing extended information, such as graphical data visualization, you can use the right-click on the program icon. Overall, Modem Monitor is an indispensable tool for anyone needing to monitor modem and network interface performance.
Version 3.1.1: Network devices monitoring has been added. Now you can get statistics for any device - dialup adapters, ISDN, cable modems or network adapters, including satellite cards and other.
