HsTcp2Com is a Windows and Linux software that enables communication between various types of serial ports (RS232/RS485, Bluetooth, IrDA, USB) through forwarding and bridging data to TCP/IP. It acts as a Serial Device Server and converts serial devices to COM ports or /dev/tty serial devices.
The HsTcp2Com software suite includes a Serial Device Server Application that runs in the background on Linux as a daemon or on Windows as a service, and a Control Client GUI Application that runs on Windows only. All device server configuration tasks, such as configuring of ports, tracing, and diagnostics, are performed remotely through the Control Client GUI via TCP/IP connection to the server, making it a user-friendly software.
HsTcp2Com is designed to connect devices such as modems, routers, sensors, bar code scanners, meters, wireless devices, PBXes, GPS receivers, data collection devices, and any serial instruments to the serial ports of the PC, enabling access to that data from anywhere over an IP-based network. Apart from its flexibility, it also comes with a number of features, including, but not limited to:
・Serial Device Server software running on Linux or Windows
・The server operating in the background (Linux daemon or Windows service), working even when no user is logged on to the server PC.
・Remote administration over TCP/IP via Windows GUI Control Client
・Access to the server protected with username and password
・TCP/IP connection between the server and the Control GUI client encrypted
・Supports simultaneously up to 128 links (forwarding connections) with each endpoint of the link capable of operating in different IP or Serial modes
・Supports simultaneous access to up to 32 serial devices (Linux TTY serial ports or Windows COM ports)
・Supports various connection modes: Serial to TCP Server, Serial to TCP Client, Serial to UDP, Serial to Serial, TCP Server to TCP Server, TCP Server.
Overall, HsTcp2Com is a reliable and efficient software for data communication, which provides a comprehensive solution for bridging data between serial ports and TCP/IP connections on Windows and Linux platforms.
